Arrived in Guangzhou
Short and sweet post tonight as we are tired and ready for sleep! We left the hotel for the airport this morning at 9:00 for our 12:45 flight to Guangzhou. Our travel guide was so sweet. She came up to Robbie and I separately with tears in her eyes asking us to promise to take good care of Baby Girl and to give her lots of love. It made me cry to see how much she cares for my daughter. I made it a whole week without crying in China and then this week has started out full of tears! More tears were to come on the plane after battling a screaming baby mid air! The girls and sat together and Robbie sat about 10 rows back in the middle of two sleeping men. Baby Girl slept for the first 30 minutes of the 3 hour flight and then woke up in a screaming fit. She screamed straight for about 30 minutes then off and on the rest of the flight. Here last 40 minutes on the plane were pretty good if I sat up straight and rocked her without changing her position or shifting my weight. It wasn't until she stopped crying that I started to feel the weight of the week and had a little cry right there on the plane!
We checked into our hotel, which is super nice, and encountered more problems with our reservations. Not what we wanted to deal with when our girl needed a fresh bottle and a place to nap in peace. They, again, had us booked in a king room with only 3 people for breakfast. We weren't going to grin and bear it this week after sleeping 3 sometimes 4 to a bed in Gansu. Our travel guide had to call her people several times and fight with the front desk lady, but I think she got it all taken care of. Our room is great and she said we should have 4 passes for breakfast instead of 3. Guess we will see in the morning!
After we unloaded luggage, Robbie took the girls to McDonalds right beside our hotel for a little taste of America! They brought it back to the room and we watched Soul Surfer on TV - so glad to have some American speaking channels! Then, the girls and I went for a late night swim at the hotel pool. They have been wanting to swim, but the last pool wasn't really kid friendly. All are asleep but me, so I am off to catch some ZZZ's as well.
Girl time in the hot tub after the pool!
Baby Girl wiped out from her first flight!
P.S. - BG is a little worse in her cold today after our flight today. Please continue to pray for her to get well. We have medical apt tomorrow.
And, we would love some early prayers for a smooth and happy flight home on Wednesday!!
