We are delayed . . .

We are bummed to report that we will not be leaving before June 13 for China. Our delayed was two-fold.  First, the US Consulate in China unexpectedly shut down for this week due to a security threat.  No way to confirm appointments, or for the people who are in China to have Consulate Appointment before leaving China.  They are the ones who really have it rough! The second delay is caused by the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival that runs from June 10-12.  Because most people leave the states for China on a Thursday, our first available departure date will now be June 13, pending a Consulate Appointment the week of June 24 (which we can't confirm yet because the Consulate office is not open!).

 I was so confident in our dates and have had to have some sweet time with Jesus to calm my anxious heart! We are disappointed for sure, but not discouraged.  We know that we have a Father in heaven who is not surprised at our 3 week delay and has a purpose, a plan, and a promise to use this wait for our good.  If you want to test your patience level, have kids or try adoption!  I'm afraid I have failed the test in both regards, but I am determined to finish this race with strong faith!
